An Irreplaceable Gift

Sometimes, it so happens that we find ourselves in a whirlpool of thoughts and memories. Out of which, some of us emerge nostalgic and filled with a bitter sweet longing for our past happiness, While others find themselves fleeing from their haunting pasts and eventually getting lost in the shadows of their misery. However, our thoughts and memories are not only to be dreaded or dreamed of as mere parts of our consciousness, for they are our guide to self-discovery, and our companions in times of our intrinsic dilemmas. If we examine these memories closely, we would understand the significance of our own choices in shaping our personalities and making us who we are today.

Such reflections reveal to us the patterns along which, He, The All-Knowing, The Most Wise is grooming us. For each and every one of us has a distinctly significant role to play, which is unique to our individual selves. Our family backgrounds, our education, the circle of friends we choose to be with; essentially, every minor incident to the greatest of accidents that happen in our lives, happen to teach us these roles and the truth of our unique identities.

Nevertheless, under the burden of our trials and individual-conflicts of daily lives, we cannot comprehend the fact that all our hardships and difficulties are to prepare us for an honor especially reserved for us. And so, our faith in the love of The Most Loving is poisoned by doubt and uncertainty. Our understanding about ourselves is obscured by a skeptical disbelief about our own worth, and we end up dismissing such concepts as farfetched ideas, figments of someone’s imagination. Not realizing that by doing so, we abandon ourselves and let ourselves be consumed by self-doubt. Without faith in His mercy, in our self, we are nothing but a sinking ship, which is being tossed about in the ever raging storms of our lives.

Faith allows us to recognize ourselves for who we really are, and guides us to His Noor, residing within every soul, The Light which illuminates every kind of darkness and brightens all horizons. Understand this dear reader, every person who walks the face of this earth is a son or a daughter of Adam and Eve (Peace be upon them both). As such, every one of us has a noble birth, Our very existence is an expression of The Divine Decree and by the Will of our Master all of us are His deputies. Consequently, the depth of our hearts is deeper than the deepest of the seas, the strength of our courage and resolve is greater than the greatest of the mountains, and thus, the stature of our existence is loftier than the loftiest of the angels.

So make no mistake, each of us has the power to move mountains and has been blessed a uniqueness that no one else shares. Let all our hopes and disappointments, trials and troubles reveal to us these gifts of our Creator; with which we are to serve Him by serving His creatures.
