The Bonds of Eternity

Life revolves around relations whose foundation rests on such intricate and yet simple emotions as love and friendship. Whose beauty allows us to appreciate the nobility of our kind, for they teach us the wisdom to acquire knowledge and understanding from every soul we connect with. This is a trait that sets us apart from all other creatures and makes us His deputies on earth. An honor whose reality empowers us to a mastery earned through His servitude, granting us access to secrets that can only be known through His Divine Guidance. For they require a purity of faith and action that can only be achieved in His absolute obedience ,and complete submission to His Supreme Authority, Mercy, and Wisdom. Consequently, though every soul and its relationship are distinct in its beauty, some are valued above all others because their bases are formed by a mutual quest to seek His pleasure. And as a reward, such affinities are blessed with an eternity that transcends the boundaries of death, to be together in the everlasting joys of paradise.

These are the bonds that blossom into such intimacies that they become inseparable parts of a single entity, like black is to darkness and light is to brightness, like fragrance is to flowers and sight is to eyes, like touch is to hands and taste is to tongue, like blood is to body and soul is to life. So close that even if fate marks their destinies apart and life sets for them completely different courses, their names and memories become a voiceless spirit that resides in the silent, inner most depths of their hearts, causing their souls to remain familiar with each other, even across the ever widening gulf of time. Such are the ties we look for in every other person but most understandably often taste the bitterness of a futile search, for they are the jewels of His divine treasury and are only blessed with His Grace and Mercy.

May He, The Most Loving bless us the belief, with which such bonds of eternity are forged, Amin. For today most of us find ourselves imprisoned in a bitterness that is born out of broken dreams and crushed ambitions, of severed relations and insincere ties. As a result, such ideas appear to us, nothing more than a fantasy of a utopian dream. In the bitterness of our despair, we forget that the world we live in is a mere land for cultivation. Wherein we are to sow the seeds of our deeds and reap their rewards in the here-after. Our pains make us abandon ourselves to the miseries of our anguish. So we become heedless of the Omnipotent authority of our Master and the colors of our faith, with which He adorns our lives.

So as a reminder to ourselves, let us examine these words of our Master, The Most Merciful:
“The believing men and believing women are allies of one another. They enjoin what is good and forbid what is wrong, and establish prayers, and give Zakah, and obey Allah and His messenger. Those, Allah will have mercy upon them. Indeed Allah is exalted in Might and The Wise.” “Allah has promised the believing men and believing women, gardens beneath which rivers flow, where in they abide eternally in pleasant dwellings and gardens of perpetual residence. But approval from Allah is greater. Tis that which is a great attainment.” According to many sayings of His Beloved Prophet Muhammad P.B.U.H, the alliance here refers to the bonds of pious husbands and wives, parents and their children, and even friends, who meet and part (within the boundaries of Parda) only for the sake of Allah, The Most Loving.

So let the light of these words shine within our hearts and dispel the darkness of our harsh experiences. Let us all pray that may He grant us the privilege of having such bonds, and rejoicing in the bliss of their ever-lasting beauty. Amin.
